Black Panther director Ryan Coogler explains very nicely how the sequel resembles Arnold Schwarzenegger starrer Terminator.
Chadwick Boseman starred in Black Panther when he raised a really high standard and now the creators understood the need to fill in big shoes for the movie’s sequel. Director Coogler made the fantasy flick’s comparison to the Schwarzenegger starter movie during an interview with Collider.
Coogler again said “Terminator 2 is a big inspiration for this movie. Big Time”.
We have already seen in Terminator 2, the rivalry between Schwarzenegger’s Terminator character, and the antagonist T-1000 played by Robert Patrick. According to Coogler, Wakanda conflicts with the leader of the new underwater kingdom of Talocon Namor. Terminator want John Connor both the good and the bad guys. Only difference is, one wants to protect him and the other wants to kill him.
Coogler wants us to sympathize with both Wakandans and Namor for Black Panther and understand both sides. He used some brilliant tactic for the first movie left that fans wondering whether they should side with the villain Killmonger (Michael Jordan) or Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman).
The director also comparing the Black Panther sequel to Godfather during interview. Only viewers can tell on its release whether the claims turn into a reality or not.
